Why I wrote it
I want to share from my heart about why I wrote this book. First I wrote this book simply out of obedience to God. He used several people to plant the idea for a book in my heart and then God even introduced me to writers, editors, and publishers. Once they all had given me the advice I needed to begin I started to write everyday after work. I would write for anywhere from 2 to 5 hours a night. I could feel the anointing of God upon me as I wrote, my fingers could barely move fast enough. It was like that, day after day for 3 months and then the first rough draft was done.
What kept me going?
What kept me going was the visualization of men and even women sitting on the edge of their bunk in a stark, lonely, dim prison cell reading my book. It caused me to remember back 20 some years ago when I was sitting in prison in that grey concrete and steel cell. I can still hear the loud noise of the prison and the deafening silence of night. I envisioned the reader being absorbed by what they were reading, story after story of Jesus coming through in every kind of situation imaginable.
Where is it going?
Soon after the book was published I realized that God had big plans for it. That many lives were going to be changed after reading “The Ultimate Pursuit”. The book has become what I consider a “ministry” of its own. Since there are 79 short stories in the book, many people from a vast variety of backgrounds and walks of life have been finding hope for whatever situations they are facing. They are church going folks to agnostics to people that are looking for God to direct them, heal them, give them the desires of their hearts. God has directed me to prison Chaplains and jail Chaplains that are very happy to distribute the book in their institutions. The only catch is they don’t have a budget for books. I was left to seek the Lord on how to supply the Chaplains with books that change lives. It is our aim to sell enough books each month so that we can take books from our inventory and donate them to prisons or jails or other places like drug rehabilitation centers. We have also asked for help from anyone who wants to bring hope to the incarcerated or addicted individual. They can sponsor books at a low cost, just over our cost so we can afford to print more books and keep the good news of the gospel of Jesus Christ coming to those whose lives depend upon it.
I thank you for reading my book, please share it with someone. The book you have could save many lives; if you sponsor some books, undoubtedly more lives will be changed and saved.
May the Lord richly bless you!
